little pookie woke up drenched in throw-up- poor girl. she was crying the night before & we didn't get her up because we figured she was just having nightmares- in the past if we got her up to make her feel better it would just end up being this super long process- so we've learned to let her cry it out. i guess not anymore

What A Lovely Time Of Year

i'm missing my family right now- not because of the time of year (because of nutcracker i never had enough time to travel home for christmas to be with family throughout my adult life) but because i didn't get to see them this past summer. having little I.J. during the summer kind of threw off our usual visit to Az.

LOVE you guys! know that i'm thinking about you.

D.I.Y. Project 1 & 2

our second D.I.Y. project was super rad. we stole the idea from blue bird vintage i fell in love with her wreath the minute i saw it & immediately thought we needed a D.I.Y. Club meeting in december after all.




i'm thinking the deers totally make the wreath. i got them from the top of the boxes of stephanie higginbotham's MOST delicious cupcakes at the beehive bazaar. ohhh how i crave those yummy's... you can get them year round in highland, utah at dear lizzies a boutique & a bistro- genius -who doesn't get hungry while shopping

Old Friends

ever since i can remember, we would come to utah each summer (& sometimes winter) to visit family & friends of my parents. i loved going to the duncans & the dixons. they had really cool houses with trampolines or a pool & always had the best BBQ's. flint & doug are bff's of my dad's since college. it was so nice having them over to my momz for dinner. they are in their 80's now-so they have life stories galore & i loved hearing every single one of them.

our stake has this super cool nativity activity every year. they bring in a freakin camel for it. sooo great. we dropped off ida at my mom's because it was like 5 degrees out and braved the cold. we thought elsa would love it & she did.

BB is over!

The beehive bazaar went really well. you never know how receptive people will be to your goods. it's definitely a learning experience every time i participate. over all i felt i was well received and look forward to the spring bazaar. crossing my fingers that i'm accepted.

Sooooo Busy!

So many last many things to do for the Beehive Bazaar! So excited to get them finished... Lots of anxiety. If I could leave the world behind (kids- husband) I could be finished in 2 days. But since I can't do that (in more ways than one) I will be working up until the last minute. I have to say my little sister Andrea is an angel for helping me with the kids this last week & hopefully this next week.



enjoy these pictures my mother in-law took. I was super sad I missed taking any pictures this fall- it was an especially vibrant one this year. I'm so glad she was so taken by the beauty of these trees to stop and take some pictures. love he

Adam's Fast Car

no this is not a car commercial- this is adam's relatively new hobby. in this clip you can see a GT3 & a ZR1 letting him by, which is supposedly as good as passing. yes he's showing off - top speed is 140mph, but "its the braking and cornering that takes skills."

leave it to me to find out about this at the last minute & of course have a crying baby all night didn't help me get it finished.

i'm pretty sure i'm too late but i thought i would post this anyway. shabby apple is/was having a dare to design contest & so here are my designs. you'll have to use your imagination quite a bit since my drawing skills are very limited...


imagine this first dress with a super soft flowing stretch knit- i was inspired by the pink striped material i have (second pic) doesn't this look comfy? the large ruffle reminds me of mexico & the elastic waist band attached breaks up the dress for those of us who need a little help in looking leaner. i would add a cap sleeve under the ruffle to make it a bit more modest. ;) ;) nudge, nudge...




the top of this dress is a comfy t-shirt (stretch knit) material with the sleeves a tiny bit puffed. the shoulders have a bit of a rouched look and the cuffs on the sleeves are about an inch long. the skirt & belt are attached & is a little high waisted. the zipper would come up the back maybe even sewn on the outside for a little edgy-er look to this dainty looking dress. i love when stripes are sewn to look the the old chevron signs. i'm thinking white on top and navy blue in the stripes & maybe a red or navy blue belt or flip all the colors around. anything works for this.

Halloween

we celebrated tia's big 3-0 on halloween eve this year. we skated till our toes were numb. tia's ugly betty was spot on. so was peter's dawg the bounty hunter. emily & josh were zombies.i think it's obvious what ashley, john & tia's mom all are. i was farrah fawcett (unfortunately my hair didn't turn out too well) adam's a guy from the 80's- chris was the corps bride- & ryan well i think he just wanted to wear short shorts & grow the back of his hair out.


on halloween elsa had her first official trick or treat experience at my moms. then we headed down to PG to visit GG- then over to jeron & eliz' to trick or treat some more

My neighbors carved their pumpkin the night before halloween. Yes it's still attached to the vine hanging over the fence.

Oh Elsa!

lately i'll leave the room for a minute & when i come back i'll find elsa over by ida doing something to her. the day before this picture was taken i was in the kitchen putting my cereal bowl away & i could hear ida making a strange sound so i ran back into the room to find elsa sitting on ida who had rolled over onto her belly. funny thing is she didn't seem to mind. her eyes follow elsa around the room all day long. it's pretty cute.
