I figure since i'm a week late on this thing for father's day, i'll blog about that & adam's birthday a week early.
we had a really nice bbq at the paul's for father's day & plan a bbq over at our house for the big 37! not quite getting out too much with the new little one, with the stupid swine flu going round & the fact that she's only 1 1/2 weeks old.



it was also wes' birthday this month- he turned 6- he's such a cutie. he says the funniest things. grammie & GG took him to disneyland for his birthday a couple of weeks ago. grammie takes all the kids when they turn 6. it will be very interesting for her when it's elsa & the twins turn. i suppose we'll have to go with her...

Ida Jann Paul-Welcome To Our Family!

Ida Jann Paul- 8lbs 21 1/2 inches long- named after both our fabulous mothers!

ida came into this world via successful vbac, which beats a c- section any day... i had the most amazing midwife and knew everything would go well with her in charge. ida had a slight case of jaundice so we had to bring a bililight home with us- the first 2 nights were pretty rough. now she is sleeping well and eating well & she's quite the little angel- though she looked a little bit at first like a grumpy old man.

when we first showed elsa her new baby sister we think she thought ida was a doll & she looked on with a smile until ida moved then that freaked her out a bit. she pushed her away and wanted nothing to do with her. she warmed up a bit later & let us take a couple of pictures before she decided she really didn't like this new little creature around. luckily the next day when she came to visit was a different story. she just kept waving to ida & blowing kisses to her.



adam's family is big on debating about who the baby looks like. they can go on for hours discussing what part of her face or body came from what family. adam & i think she looks just like my dad. check out the pics below- i think they are identical although he looks like a happy old man. the first pic is from 1974 you may see some resemblance in elsa and me- i'm the one in my dad's arms. the second pic is from 1975

Happy Non-Birth-Day to Me

No baby today, but adam did arange these beautiful flowers cut from our garden for me- i think he was suppose to be a florist in another life... (watch out amanda)

Future Baby's Kick Off BBQ

last year we had a bbq at our house when elsa was 2 days late with my married group of friends- so this year i decided i would try and see if we could kick off future babies entrance into this world by inviting all the same people.

well that was 4 days ago- so my married friends are not the good luck charms i thought they were- thanks guys- i should of just jumped on the trampoline...
