Paul Family Reunion

the paul family reunion was a blast. not only did we get to hang with the immediate paul fam, but we got to hang with some of adams really cool aunts, uncles & cousins. i was so bad with the camera (it's getting harder to break it out with 2 babies these days) this was our only summer vacation this year, having a baby in june put a damper on that. sorry kaleb

we all went up to midway & stayed at the homestead. 3 days of eating- swimming- skiing- a crater cave- playing nertz- spoons- dominoes- eating- talking- chasing babies- eating... so great!

sad this will probably be the last year. randy's family put a trust together to fund their reunions (they've been doing them for years) & they finally ran out. with 140 people in attendance i could see why. last time they had a reunion, about 4 years ago, 109 people came. our family alone contributed 2 new babies, 3 new toddlers, 1 new husband, 2 new wives & an 11 year old stud. i'm sure jann was loving showing all of us off. especially the 5 little ones.

GG's Fabulous At 80!

every year we have fun & games for GG's birthday in her back yard. this year was especially great because it was her 80th birthday. the family made her a pink panther movie (i'll post that later if the family allows)

In Memory Of Donna Vee Williamson Paul Jackson

adam's grandma, donna vee, passed away the week before last. she was almost 98 years old. donna was born in provo utah on september 4, 1911. it's amazing how many changes in this world she has seen in her lifetime.

unfortunately she passed away a couple of weeks before her family reunion, which is this week. i was lucky enough to meet her when she was doing fairly well a few years ago. donna was lovely & sweet & always remembered kaleb's name. adam went by the night before she passed & was able to say his goodbyes.

i took these photo's from the reunion blog and learned a few things about grandma jackson (as she was called after grandpa
grandpa dewitt paul died and she married her high school sweetheart giff jackson)

-at 20 she married dewitt, who was in his late 20's
-she was married to dewitt for 50 years & giff for 10
-when donna was 8 years old her mother died of cancer. she was then raised by her father and stepmother Florence
-of all the activities in donna's life, she enjoyed dancing most.
-donna and her friends would go to the saltair resort to dance.
-donna was president of the west high girls club
-she met Amelia Earhart and introduced her at a school assembly. (amelia was on her history making vagabond trip" across the continent. one of her stops was salt lake city)
-she loved fashion & was very fashionable
-she loved to sketch (look at her sketches below)

Cowabunga/ park city

old friends in town= good times

robbin came with her family for a couple of weeks & lisa was here for the last week of it so what did we decide to do? go to cowabunga! it was pretty fun but not worth the money. i think because of where it is located (close to the mountains) it made it windy & so cold. i wasn't crazy about all the water falling down from the mousetrap contraption everywhere you went either. when i go down a super fun water slide i don't want water shooting into my face and nose, it's bad enough that you practically get an enema at the end of each ride...



we also headed to park city to go down the alpine slide & the coaster. I stuck with ida while lisa took kaleb-hannah- & zoe on everything. they had fun...

Finally!

so last year i went to the gym one night, very reluctantly cause my gym buddy was out of town, and i ran into one of my best friends from high school eli ley. he has lived here off and on for the last 2 years! one of my other bff's that i grew up with, carley smith-conder, was here for a week so we finally got together.

it's so fun to see how your friends grow up. eli has 2 girls & has been married for 12 years & he's going to be a plastic surgeon. carls has a girl & a boy & has been married for 11 years & is still dancing. she has her own company in az.
